The industry’s favorite rockstar, Jutes, is back to bless our pages with a pop-punk single titled ‘Fvck Your Boyfriend’. After saying he would be dropping singles every week, Jutes has continued to gift his fans and listeners endless hits since the start of the year. This week he comes in with my favorite release so far. ‘Fvck Your Boyfriend’ is a nostalgic punk record that explores the relationship of a crush who seems to be fighting for a way out due to being misunderstood. Jutes discusses his feelings toward this person throughout the song, and he shows that he loves this person for all their beauties and flaws. The single is highly relatable and the rising artist uses his personability to display that he’s willing to understand this person even if their loved ones aren’t. In addition to releasing the song, the emerging artist also released a very Blink-182 esque video to accompany the song.
In the SirJhn-directed visual, Jutes is seen in an old-school garage as he sings about his feeling towards this significant other. With the help of his band, he is able to convey his feelings in an expressive way that correlates with the mature songwriting heard within the song. Although this is one of many videos and singles released this year, Jutes doesn’t seem to be slowing down, and his music continues to bring emotions that we have not always seen from the rising artist before.
