If you’ve been paying close attention to modern-day Hip-Hop, you have already heard of rising Los Angeles rapper Baby Keem. After gaining global attention for his full-length project ‘Die For My Bitch’, the emerging rapper gained national praise from artists such as Kendrick Lamar. Now, just two years later since releasing his career-defining project, Keem is back with his fourth release in the last 6 months titled ‘durag activity’. Keem recruits Travis Scott to assist on the BRICK! produced record and I would be lying if I said it wasn’t a hit. In addition to the single, Keem also released a visual for the new record.
The Eliel Ford-directed visual carries the same aesthetic and visual presentation that other Keem videos have. We see the rising artist exude his nonchalant appearance as the video transitions between scenes of mob mentality, old cars, and fancy dinners. The video is simple but the color grading and cinematic elements layered within the video take it over the top. In addition, anytime you have Travis in a video it’s going to be a hit. With that being said, take a couple of minutes and stream the video above.
Lyrics That Stick:
“You went back to your ex on me (Huh), just to flex on me
But that shit don't mean anything, quit textin' me
You got an innocent face, I stroke it
You got good taste, when we met, I left you frozen”
