Ella Mai Croons On Her New Visual For “DFMU”

After taking a 2-year hiatus, rising r&b star, Ella Mai, breaks her silence with her new single “DFMU”. The single is a personable tale about honesty and her appreciation of it. The song was written with Prince Charlez, and Ella Mai glides on the song with her exceptional vocals and personal songwriting. In addition to her enchanting vocal range, the production sonically shows her maturity and growth as an artist.
Although the song itself was strong, the video that accompanies it was just as captivating. The visual is slick and and it details a relationship at risk of turning toxic. With its exceptional color grading and minimally lit scenes, the overall setting of the video discusses the fears of falling in love and shows Ella Mai’s need to not play tug of war with her heart. Overall, this is a great comeback for Mai, and I’m excited to see what the rest of the year holds for her.
