Sevan. & James Kosher Hold On To Their Youth With Their Groundbreaking Single “We’ll Be Kids Forever”

Hanging on to our youth is something we all face as we begin to get older. As we age, we try our best to hold on to the nostalgia and feelings of freedom before we immerse ourselves in a world where we are burdened with responsibilities and outside forces. However, it is a beautiful feeling when an artist can bring you back to the feeling of being young and angsty. This week I was blessed to come across rising singer-songwriter Sevan., and I consider him one of my artists to watch for 2023.
Originally from Massachusetts, Evan Xie first appeared performing in underground Shanghai clubs with local musicians. After two years studying China’s expansive music scene, he quickly gained traction as a must-watch up and coming artist. With incredibly unique talent and technique, his time abroad helped arm him with an immense knowledge of various production and performance styles. Fast forward to 2021, Xie is known professionally as Sevan., embodying his self-titled record label 707 alongside close friend and artist Kejie. Boasting raw production skills along with over a decade of musical knowledge, Sevan. has undeniably become a force to be reckoned with.
Now, the break out star debuts on our pages with his latest release “We’ll Be Kids Forever”, and it may be the best song I have heard all week. The single is a genre-bending masterpiece full of lush melodies, warm sonics, and a hook that will have you singing well after the song is finished. Although I’m fairly new to his sound, Sevan. has the “IT” factor, and you can see it on display with his mature songwriting. In addition, James Kosher was the cherry on top to take this record home. They both do a great job with making each lyric stand on its own with raw emotions, and they show that they can compete with the best of the best quality wise. Overall, I was highly impressed with this submission, and I look forward to hearing more from the rising stars.
