Over the last 5 years, I have had the pleasure of following rising popstar, Gianni Taylor, as he has garnered success with his ability to craft intoxicating hits that always pull at our heartstrings. Taylor is not new to success and his music has always held a place in our hearts, but his new sound is shaping to be some of his best work date. After releasing a spree of songs and visuals throughout 2021, the emerging singer is back with his latest release “Anti Hero”.

“Anti Hero” is a 2-song EP that features slow paced guitar-driven anthems that are full of lush melodies and exceptional vocal range. On the first single “Hero”, Taylor glides over guitar plucks that seem reminiscent of nostalgic late 90s indie-alt bands. His falsetto is exceptional and his lyrics are some of his best. The song details his experience meeting his idols (heroes) and realizing that they are all flawed. “Hero” is definitely a tear-jerker and may be my favorite out of the two. It’s sonically pleasing and the song structure is very cohesive.

In the second single “Worst Enemy”, Taylor describes a toxic relationship that was once beautiful. He discusses his need to release all these memories, and he ultimately realizes that he’s happier that he’s finally done allowing his significant other to dictate his feelings. Overall, this is some of our favorite work from him, and to make matters even better, he partnered with BangerOfTheDay to host the exceptional work.
