William Willard, aka WilliefromtheDrive, has been one of the most polarizing artists in recent years. If I could award him artist of the year, I would. WilliefromtheDrive is that good, and his versatility and work ethic is unmatched. For those new to his sound, he isn’t new to the music industry. From using his personal life struggles to elevate his brand & entrepreneurship to being a trailblazer in the industry, he isn’t human. Now, he enters our pages with his 62-track masterpiece of an album “Forgot To Drop These While Protecting Your Feelings”.

The 62-track album is a testament to how talented he is as an artist. Name another artist dropping 62 quality songs all at once. I bet you can’t. WilliefromtheDrive doesn’t play by the rules. He makes them. He is raw, in your face, and the quality of the music speaks for itself. Drawing inspiration from his personal life over the last 5 years, Willie pours his heart and emotions into this sonic masterpiece. He flows over each beat with precision, and he his songwriting is exceptional.

If you are a fan of hip-hop and drill music, you will love this album. The high volume of hard-hitting records will be enough to hold us over for the next few months. I find a new favorite song from the album every day. My personal favorites from the album were “Fuck you Kalema”, “Be Your lover”, & “THE BADDEST”. “Fuck you Kalema” is an infectious record. I loved his cadences and he shines with his lyrical prowess from start to finish. The hook on this record is otherworldly. “THE BADDEST” features the talented artist Dollo, and it is a certified club banger. I loved the pacing of the sonics, and the keys go crazy. This was a dynamic record built for celebration. “Be Your Lover” might be my overall favorite. With a feature from Topfive Nay, the song is carried by a captivating hook and introspective lyrics that are easy to connect with. Compared to some of the records, it is a more melodic record. It shows how versatile Willie is as an artist. Overall, this is one of my favorite projects so stream it below!
