V-I Drop His Fiery New Album, “A.U.R.A”

In today’s music industry, I feel like everything sounds the same. Everyone is either riding the same trends or they are creating songs with little substance. As an art form, music needs to be expressive, and there needs to be an identity behind the artists/bands that are making it. In a time where music feels formulaic and emotionless, I continue to search for artists/bands that are pioneering this next generation. Regardless of monthly listeners and hype, all I care about is the music. What story are you trying to tell? What sets you apart from the rest of the industry? Do I connect with this? These are all questions that I try to answer when finding new artists. This week, I came across rising rapper, songwriter, & producer V-I.
V-I is an artist that has taken the music industry by storm with his unique sound. He is raw, captivating, and he can’t be put into a box. His swagger and confidence allow him to stay on top of his game from track to track. V-I is making hits while staying true to himself and that is what makes him a star. Now, he enters our pages with his latest album, “A.U.R.A”.
“A.U.R.A” is a self-produced masterpiece that showcases V-I’s versatility and sheer talent. For those new to him, his eclectic album is the best introduction to rising star. The project is cinematic, dynamic, and I consider it to be one the best written bodies of work in 2024. My favorite songs were “Swan Dive” & “ATM”. “Swan Dive” is a chef’s kiss. The record is carried by warm vocals over cinematic trap sonics. Sonically, the record is bright, and I was able to hear V-I’s charisma as he discusses the ladies. “ATM” is my favorite from the project. It is an introspective song that connects people of all backgrounds that love music. Sonically, the record is carried by engaging production that features punchy drums.
