Garr - Torn (EP Release)

Nostalgic production mixed with emotional songwriting has always had a place within Garr’s signature sound. With his new 3-song EP, he builds on his current style with innovative production and lush melodies in the highly anticipated project titled ‘Torn’. Although the project is short, the impact is present and by the end, it will all feel bittersweet.
On the EP, Garr meshes elements of hyper-pop, emo, and hip-hop drums all into one sound. Within the songs, there is a lot going on, but I feel that’s a part of the chaos you get when you feel torn between different things in life. His songwriting is mature, and every song is expressive in a different way. My favorite songs from the project have to be ‘Now and Then’ and ‘Sixteen’. ‘Sixteen’ is a nostalgic love song that showcases the rising artist reminiscing the summer of 2016 with his significant other. The song is carried by lush melodies and very emotional songwriting that will have you reminiscing about what you did that summer. ‘Now and Then’ is the standout song for me. The production is a little more in your face and direct. In addition, it feels like an early 2000s song with an innovative twist due to the hyper-pop influence. Overall, this is one of the best projects this year, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear this.
Favorite Song: Now and Then
Lyrics That Stick:
”My head in the clouds
When my feet won’t touch the ground”
