Straight out of Louisiana, ssgkobe has slowly been building a loyal fanbase over the last couple of years. Although the last year seems to have brought him a considerable amount of attention, his projects like ‘Rebirth’ and ‘M3’ proved early on that he had immense talent. Now, with his new EP titled ‘KO.’, the emerging artist takes off the training wheels and shows why he should be considered one of the best rappers out right now.
On the EP, ssgkobe meshes trap 808s and intoxicating hooks with his Louisiana feel to craft a masterclass 7-song EP. The production shows his growth, and the balance between hard-hitting and smooth beats keeps the EP balanced over the 15-minute run-time. In addition, he also has guest appearances from $NOT and BoofPaxkMooky. Overall, the project perfectly shows who ssgkobe is, and it proves that he has one of the most influential voices in hip-hop right now. Our favorite track has to be ‘Calabasas’ that features $NOT. The song has a real west coast sound, and both artists really help drive the project home with this being the bonus track. With that being said, if you have 15-minutes give this project a listen.
