When it comes to music discovery, I always find myself searching for artists that are willing to bring listeners into their world. I yearn for artists that are looking to push the boundaries lyrically & sonically. Because of that, I find myself searching for disruptors that refuse to align with the genre norms. Although it’s often hard finding these artists, it feels like I hit the lottery when I do. This week, I came across a diamond in the rough named Toby On Earth. Toby On Earth is an emerging singer-songwriter that is known for crafting records with cinematic textures that evoke raw emotions out of his listeners. He is mesmerizing, captivating, and memorable. You can feel his heart & soul in every record, and his star power has only continued to grow. Now, he enters our pages with his latest EP “Sleepwalker”.

“Sleepwalker” is one of the most complete projects of the year, and I loved it sonically. Toby fuses pop, disco, & r&b into one captivating sound. The 5-track EP has a song for everyone, and it showcases his vocal range and songwriting prowess. For me, I was really impressed with the production. His songs had a warmth and presence that felt otherworldly. Laced with groovy synths and electronic elements, these records will have you dancing in your kitchen on a sunny Sunday morning.

My favorite songs were “Fly With Me” * Tied Up”. “Fly With Me” has my favorite hook, and I loved the song sonically. This was a headie record carried by engaging instrumentation, exceptional vocal deliver, and I loved the song structure. There wasn’t a dull moment on this song. My personal favorite was “Tied Up” featuring Roger Songbird. This was the most memorable song on the project. The rapping was crisp, and the falsetto chorus goes crazy. The chemistry between both artist is evident, and Roger Songbird brought the energy. Like always, Toby On Earth’s performance was the cherry on top!

For those new to Toby On Earth, I hope this EP proves he has that “IT” factor. We are witnessing a star in the making, and I can’t wait to see him continue to grow. He is the present and the future. So, stream his EP below and vibe out!
