When it comes to music, I am always searching for bands & artists that defy genre norms and push the boundaries. I yearn to hear the unheard, and I fight for the those that I believe deserve to have a voice. Although the industry is very saturated, there are these rare times when I come across a diamond in the rough. This week, I was impressed when I came across emerging singer Meredyth.

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Meredyth has an intoxicating aura, and she’s known for crafting captivating songs that draw influence from by the nostalgic feel of 90s pop with electronic undertones. She is raw, daring, and her versatility can’t be overlooked. Although come across thousands of talented artists, there is something special about Meredyth. Her sound is refreshing, and she has this originality that makes her stand out amongst her peers. Now, she debuts on our pages with her mesmerizing EP “Expectations”.

“Expectations” is a transformative EP that dives into themes of self-discovery, life experiences, and reflecting on one’s emotions. Drawing influence from likes of Oasis & Amy Winehouse, the EP has is carried by electronic soundscapes that are laced with warm vocals & mesmerizing delivery. Her sound transcends genre norms, and she delivers a project that is otherworldly. My favorite songs from the project were “Somewhere” & “No Rush”. Overall, “Expectations” is one of my favorite releases of the year, and this debut proves that Meredyth has that “IT” factor. If you are searching for a new star in music, look no furth. Meredyth has made her grand entrance!
