If you are a fan of Neo-Soul & Hip-Hop, look no further. Emerging artists Luccini Sweets, Keysuna and Mystraw (PLDG) have you covered with the release of their collaborative mixtape “Three Flaves”. “Three Flaves” is an experimental & innovative project that blends elements of Hip-Hop & Neo-Soul into a captivating sound. From the exceptional vocal delivery to the vibrant melodies, this mixtape is not one to miss. Sonically, I enjoyed the percussive elements, and the artist’s ability to incorporate new generation and old generation elements to the composition made this project refreshing.

Although each of the 19-tracks are memorable, my favorite records were “Stayin”, “Overthinkin”, & “Inner Stellar Master”. “Stayin” is a colorful song that is laced with warm melodies, dynamic instrumentation, and intoxicating vocals. The upbeat feel is perfect for the Summer, and the record was made for lovers. It details the feeling of being in the arms of someone that you deeply care about. The theme mixed with goof vibes made this a must-listen. “Overthinkin” is an introspective track that dived into finding your purpose and dealing with real life situations. As people, we all face decisions and moments that lead is to worry and question everything around us. This track explores that soul-searching feeling. Even though I loved the lyricism, the sonics of the track are what stood out the most. I loved the neo-soul production with lo-fi hip-hop undertones. They paired well with the lush melodies and exceptional songwriting. Thus was my personal favorite on the album. “Inner Stellar” is the song that will have you coming back for more. It’s daring, engaging, and it will have you moving by the end. The track is a futuristic funk & soul jam that is laced with engaging percussion, ethereal textures, and the vocal delivery was otherworldly. This is the song that I would pitch to anyone about to check this mixtape out the first time.

Overall, this is one of my favorite projects of the year. It was engaging, fun, and I loved the innovation and genre-bending feel. This is what music should feel like. With that being said, stream the mixtape below and vibe out!
