If you are someone that loves the hustle, then you will love him. He holds nothing back on his records, and his delivery always packs a punch. Harris is sharp, and he can create songs that are raw, intimate, & authentic. For anyone looking for Hip-Hop’s next star, look no further, because J DaVon Harris has finally landed on our pages with his latest album “Asset Allocation”.

 

“Asset Allocation” is such a strong introduction to the artist, and I personally consider it his magnum opus. Over 7 well-delivered tracks, Harris shines with his sharp delivery and keen ear for captivating production. Harris discusses navigating the complex landscape of modern success with a blend of gritty realism and aspirational vision over the dynamic production of Remo Willz. The themes are what make this album so relatable. He isn’t over discussing drug use or degrading women. Harris is diving into themes of themes of investment—both financial and emotional—ranging from the hustle of chasing dreams to the introspection of balancing personal and professional assets.

 

My favorite songs from the album were “Snow Globe” & “Hudson River”. “Snow Globe” is a solemn track, that dives into the mind of a self-reflective man that is analyzing the duality of his life. It is a track about seizing the moment & realizing that you have the ability to change your “OWN” life. It’s all about the hustle. “Hudson River” is deeper track that highlights Harris looking back at the events and moments that changed him. The vocal delivery was exceptional, and the production
