When it comes to music discovery, I find myself yearning for artists that push the boundaries and create for the love of the craft. I search for artists that I consider to be innovative, captivating, & versatile. This week, I came across my new guilty pleasure Mo Brandis. Hailing from Ibiza, the multi-platinum songwriter & composer has recently blessed us with his debut, “The Feel Good Album”.

Carried by elements of soul & funk, “The Feel Good Album” is everything I want in album. Over the 11 well-crafted tracks, Mo Brandis bears his heart and soul into what I consider his magnum opus. The album was written & produced by Mo and long-term collaborator Harry Tarlton. In addition, the album also features the world-famous London Community Gospel Choir, some of the UK’s finest musicians, Incognito’s horn section, and a 12-piece string section recorded at Metropolis Studios in London. Overall, the album is a breath of fresh air that is full of lush melodies, warm sonics, and it’s drenched in sunny feel good vibes. Speaking on the “The Feel Good Album”, Mo states:

“This album made many of my musical dreams come true. My musical roots are in Soul, Funk, Gospel and Classical, so having the opportunity to paint with all these musical colours was crazy and I’m so grateful for it! It was also my escape and musical recharge station with our second baby girl at home, so I hope it gives you energy and good vibes whenever you need it! ”

Although I loved this album front to back, the one single I recommend as a must-listen is “Look Mama I Made It”. “Look Mama I Made It”  catches you instantly with its jazz-introduction before taking you on a sonic rollercoaster of pop-infused soul vibes with hip-hop undertones. The theme of the record is to show that happiness comes from within. Overall, this is one of my favorite albums, and it deserves to be heard.
