Shrugby Shows His Star Power On His Latest Album, “MASK OF THE DRAGON”

As an avid fan of music, I have found it hard to find artists that captivate me on the first listen. Although there many talented artists, DJs, & bands, the oversaturation makes the margins harder for me to truly say who I deem as great. However, I recently found a DJ that has transformed me as a listener and curator. That DJ happens to be Shrugby. Hailing from Northern Ontario, Shrugby has taken the industry by storm. Known for his groovy “House” sound, Shrugby has been one to draw influence from other genres and experiment with his own sound. This is what makes him innovative & versatile. Now, he debuts on our pages with his latest album, “MASK OF THE DRAGON”.

“MASK OF THE DRAGON” is Shrugby’s first release of the year, and I consider it to be his magnum opus. Over the 16-tracks, Shrugby takes us on a sonic journey that you won’t want to end. The album is an endless vibe built for people that love to groove. When it came to the name and song selection process, Shrugby says:

“With the release, I got the name from a random podcast and chose the best 16 songs out of the hundred or so I started this year. I mostly make house, but I experimented with a few other genres for this release and feel like im starting to find my sound.

When it comes to my favorite songs, I loved “Break My Heart”, “Get Me High”, “F dat”, & “Foolin”. Overall, “MASK OF THE DRAGON” should be a candidate for album of the year. I haven’t listened to anything that has grabbed me on the first listen like this. This is what I consider a top notch album & Shrugby has mt attention! So, stream the album below and vibe out!
