Have you ever listened to a band that caught your attention on the first listen? If so, what was it that made them stand out. Was it their production or song structure? Or was it their ability to create a sound that you felt relatable? For me, I’m always searching for daring bands that make music for the love of their craft. I yearn to escape my everyday life and immerse myself in the art of someone that I have no connection with. This week, I was impressed when I came across rising band Midnight Zephyr.

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Midnight Zephyr has taken the music industry by storm with their genre-bending sound. They are raw, daring, and their songs are captivating. For me, their ability to craft songs that are carried by engaging rock hooks, pop undertones, and alluring lyricism is what makes them so refreshing. They can’t be put into a box. In this day an age, everyone wants to make “safe” music to appeal to the masses. Midnight Zephyr gives listeners what they “NEED” to hear. Drawing influence from the likes of the Muse, Foo Fighters, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the band is known for bringing real energy to their records. Now, they debut on our pages with their debut EP, “Tonight”.

“Tonight: is a reflective EP that showcases the band’s growth and maturity. The vocals were exceptional, and the production was otherworldly. I enjoyed the cohesiveness of the project, and the instrumentation helped create memorable melodies from song to song. Their attention to detail made this EP their magnum opus. If you have been with the band over the last 3 years, then you know this is their grand introduction into the music industry, This is the kind of project that allows you to become a household name.

On “Tonight” the band delivered a vibrant project that is full of color and optimism. Blending multiple genres, they delivered a sonic masterpiece that can’t be ignore. My favorite songs were “Tonight” & “This Is Where We End”. Overall, this is one of the best projects of the Summer. If you are looking for a new band to add to your playlists, look no further. Midnight Zephyr is the future.
