Captivating, mesmerizing, and daring are all words that describe emerging US outfit, Ames Harding & the Mirage. The four-piece band was started by Ames Harding, and he is joined by Eli ‘Elias” Weidman on drums, Mike ‘Diamondz’ Saunders on bass, & AJ ‘Babyhands’ Arnett on percussion. Together, they form a genre-bending band that is known for crafting a unique blend of world-indie hits. Their songs are catchy, and they are carried with rich sonics and engaging lyrics. In my opinion, they are the music industry’s best kept secret. Now, they debut on our pages with their latest EP, “Appalachian Jungle Radio”.

“Appalachian Jungle Radio” takes listeners on a sonic journey they won’t want to end. The project is vibrant, expansive, and I loved the overall song structure of each song. Drawing influence from psych-pop, the songs are laced with woozy sonics, ethereal textures, and the vocals are exceptional. This EP is psychedelic masterpiece. As a music lover, I’m always looking for bands & artists that push the boundaries & Ames Harding & the Mirage did that. They took risks with their production, and they gave listeners something that is refreshing and entertaining. I felt like I was floating listening to each song. For me, this project made me feel like I was tripping acid and went on a jungle safari with Wild Thornberry’s. It’s fun, alluring, and the melodies on each song are a chef’s kiss.

My favorite songs from the EP were “What’s Your Destination?”, “No Fear No Home”, & “Sweet Potato”. For anyone that is new to the band, those 3 songs depict the sheer talent and elegance of this band. Overall, this entire project is a knockout, and it deserves to be added to your playlists. Ames Harding & the Mirage have that “IT” factor so stream their EP below!
