Daring, captivating, and mesmerizing are all words that describe the burgeoning star, DJ Turna. Hailing from Manchester, UK, DJ Turna has taken the industry by storm with an eclectic sound that blends elements of jazz, hip-hop, funk, house, & UK garage. His sound is refreshing, and he has an innate ability to craft unique edits and remixes that become the soundtrack of listener’s lives. He is a tastemaker, producer, DJ, and curator all in one. Garnering attention from platforms like BBC 6Music, BBC 1Xtra, Soulection Radio, & KISS FM, the emerging DJ/producer has continued to expand on his iconic sound. Now, he enters our pages with his latest EP, “Lapse Time”.

“Lapse Time” is a groundbreaking EP that showcases DJ Turna’s immense talent and technicality. Drawing influences from various genres, the project can’t be put into a box. In my opinion, it is some of the most boundary pushing music I have heard all year. It is refreshing, and the sonics are otherworldly. Carried by rich sounds, the EP features collaborations from Ruby Wood & Katus Myles. Although there are only 5-tracks, these records are captivating from start to finish.

My favorite songs were “Rent Free” & “Reverie”. Although this has been an introduction to the rising DJ/producer, I was impressed. This EP opened my eyes to beauty of blending genres into one mesmerizing sound. I felt so immersed in the production, and I felt a high that I haven’t felt in a while from music. This EP is timeless, and I can’t wait to hear more from DJ Turna. Until then, if you are looking for a refreshing project, stream “Lapse Time” below!
