When it comes to music discovery, I am always looking for the innovators and sounds of tomorrow. In an industry where thousands of artists & songs emerge daily, it has gotten harder & harder to vet the true pioneers and disruptors. However, from time to time, I come across a new artist/group that fully captivates me. This is where Isaac Hadden Organ Trio enter the chat. Isaac Hadden Organ Trio is a heavy-hitting, improvisational, cosmic groove ensemble carving out a distinct voice in the world of funk, jazz, rock, and R&B. They are genuine, and their music will take you on a sonic journey that you won’t want to end. The band is made up of child prodigy Isaac Hadden (Guitar/Vox), and two Grammy nominated instrumentalists Bill Stevens (Organ/Vox) & Iajhi Hampden (Drums/Vox).

Although I’m new to their discography, I have many discussions about them in the North Carolina music scene. They have played numerous shows in my home state, and they continue to grow a dedicated fanbase with their innate ability to craft infectious records. The band is boundaryless and they continue to push music as a whole forward with their versatility and genre-bending sound. Now, the enter our pages with their debut album “The Glue”.

“The Glue” redefines the boundaries of groove. The project is cohesive, and it will have you hooked with its dynamic sonics. Over the 8-tracks, the band deliver a musical tapestry that blends elements of funk, jazz, rock, and R&B into one captivating sound. “The Glue” is a sonic exploration that I believe to be a testament of the band’s versatility and growth. They transcend everything we believe music is supposed to be. Although the ensemble delivers exceptional performances, "The Glue" also boasts a cavalcade of guest stars. From the sultry saxes of Snarky Puppy's Bob Reynolds and Chris Bullock to the ethereal vocals of Grammy nominee Becca Stevens and the fiery performances of Caitlin Krisko and Rebekah Todd, the band bring everyone into their innovative sound. My favorite songs from the album were “Dirty Lies” & “No Service”. Overall, this has been one of my favorite projects of the year. With that being said, stream the project below and vibe out!
