IQ The Prodigy Shares His Groundbreaking Album, “AI vs IQ”

When it comes to music discovery, I always find myself searching for artists that are willing to bring listeners into their world. I yearn for artists that are looking to push the boundaries lyrically & sonically. Because of that, I find myself searching for disruptors that refuse to align with the genre norms. Although it’s often hard finding these artists, it feels like I hit the lottery when I do. This week, I came across a diamond in the rough called IQ The Prodigy.
Hailing from New Jersey, IQ The Prodigy is an emerging independent hip-hop artist that brings a refreshing feel to modern rap. He is daring, raw, and his vocal cadences are captivating. His songwriting prowess matched with flair makes him a one-of-a-kind rapper. In my opinion, the burgeoning star stands a beacon of of lyrical excellence and profound creativity. He’s seasoned, and his previous mixtapes have allowed him to grow into the polished artist he is today. Now, 5 mixtapes & 3 critically acclaimed albums later, he debuts on our pages with his groundbreaking album “AI vs IQ”.
The album exploration of the intersection between artificial intelligence and human intellect. This innovative project leverages the cutting-edge capabilities of the AI beat generator, SoundRaw, to create its foundational music tracks. For me, the album is his magnum opus, and it showcases his ability to tackle a conceptual album. In a time where most albums feel like glorified playlists, “AI vs IQ” goes against the norm. It is a body of work that stays true to its narrative & themes. The songwriting is captivating, and I loved the song structure of each song. To add to the album’s sonics, IQ The Prodigy had the help of Grammy-nominated producer P. Carrera to help refine the production and add humanlike elements. This allowed the songs to have more of an authentic and natural feel.
My favorite songs from the transformative album were “Algorithm” & “Optimization”. “Algorithm” is carried by an acoustic guitar with a low bass string projection. The track dives into how algorithms have impacted the world we live in, but it also touches on how artists can gain recognition through algorithms. This was one of the most authentic songs on the album. “Optimization” is laced with captivating synths, and the piano adds a melody that is infectious. Diving into more introspective topics, IQ The Prodigy discusses dedication & perseverance. This is a record about maximizing your potential. Overall, this album was a knockout.
