It’s very rare that I find an artist that has immense talent and a great story. However, this week, I came across Eddie Witz and The Most High. Eddie Witz and The Most High is known for his laid-back charm that blends elements of Jack Johnson with the sun-soaked melodies of Jimmy Buffet. His music is vibrant, colorful, and captivating. The reason I fell in love with his sound is due to his personal journey. After overcoming the challenges of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, he has crafted a sound that is a source of healing & inspiration. Eddie's music blends pop, Americana, folk, and reggae/world music, creating a unique and captivating sound that transports listeners to a tropical paradise. Now, he debuts on our pages with his latest EP “I Am What I Am”.

“I Am What I Am” is a transformative EP that reflects on his journey of self-discovery & growth. As a listener, we get an inside look into a man that has overcome the trials and tribulations of life and prospered. For me, this EP is about resilience and the redemptive power of music. From start to finish, his poetic lyrics and lush melodies touch the hearts of his listeners. Sonically, the project is perfect for sunsets on the beach, and it’s a testament to the triumphs of Eddie Witz. I loved the instrumentation, and Eddie’s raspy vocals will make you feel like you’re floating on a cloud. Eddie’s sound feels like “home” to me.

My favorite songs from the EP were “My Island (Folk Version”, “In California”, & “The One That Got Away”. Although Eddie was exceptional, his supporting cast of Native Wayne Jobson, Jeff Barry, Sly Dunbar, and Robbie Lyn took this EP to the next level. The depth and richness of the overall sound could be heard. To add to the success of the EP, his debut single, "My Island," reached #3 on college radio charts in multiple countries and earning regular rotation on Sirius/XM Vacation Radio Channel. Overall, this project is one of the best I have heard this year. With that being said, stream the EP below!
