Have you ever listened to an artist that caught your attention on the first listen? If so, what was it that made them stand out. Was it their production or song structure? Or was it their ability to create a sound that you felt relatable? For me, I’m always searching for daring artists that make music for the love of their craft. I yearn to escape my everyday life and immerse myself in the art of someone that I have no connection with. This week, I was impressed when I came across the rising artist & multi-instrumentalist Harmony With Hunter.

Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Harmony With Hunter is the brainchild of Michael Hunter. Hunter is a professional musician that has an innate ability to craft captivating songs that evoke raw emotions out of his listeners. He’s daring, raw, and his sound is expansive. Pushing the boundaries of modern music, Hunter continues to provide the music industry with a refreshing facelift. Although I’m new to the artist, he goes over and beyond. Hunter is an artist that has a keen ear for song structure, mixing & mastering, and his instrumentation is otherworldly. Now, he debuts on our pages with his debut album, “Different Kind of Strong”.

“Different Kind of Strong” is a transformative album the showcases the maturity and growth of one of the most exceptional music artists in the industry. From the sonics to the mastering, Hunter had a hand in very aspect of this masterpiece. For me, I consider this his magnum opus, and it’s an incredible introduction into the mind of a musical genius. The album is carried by straightforward songs that are laced with alluring vocals and Hunter’s songwriting prowess. I connected with the overall theme. When describing the album, I would say it’s about finding inner peace and freeing yourself from past your past. It’s about finding that inner strength to get past the trials and tribulations of life.

My favorite songs from the album were “Let Me Down”, “When I’m Alone”, & “All I Needed”. “Different Kind of Strong” is a powerful album, and it deserves to be blasted amongst everyone. This album is a timeless masterpiece.
