Raw, daring, & captivating are all words that describe the rising rap-duo Bastard Twins. Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, the duo consisting of Cole Mind & Nate Wulf have taken the music industry by storm. In a time where most music feels formulaic, these burgeoning stars have continued to push the boundaries with their unique sound. Diving into themes of love, heartbreak, & fun, the rap duo’s ability craft songs with melodic flows & dynamic production has made them stand out. To add to the captivating vocals, the drugged-out plug beats will have you hooked. Although I’m still new to their sound, they debut on our pages with their fiery new album “Cloud Sounds”.
“Cloud Sounds” is a 13-track masterpiece that represents the evolution of hip-hop. The production is refreshing, and the vocal performances are memorable. The chemistry between both artists can be seen from start to finish, and I loved how they were able to compliment each other from the lyrics to the vocal cadences. Cole’s chaos is balanced well with the edgier tone of Nate. For me, this album teleported me back to 2016 when music was in a renaissance with artists like Lil Uzi, Young Thug, Corbin, & Lil Keed. The duo’s music is fun, and I feel like the industry is missing that at the moment. We need more music that makes us feel something, and this album surely does.
My favorite tracks were “Jellybean”, “Gathering”, “Scene Gurl”, & “Come My Way”. Those records are all must-listens if you plan on bumping this album. Overall, this is one of my favorite albums this year so stream it below!
