Although we may be a little late to the party, rising Charlotte, NC singer-songwriter, Natalie Carr, has been having a massive summer. After releasing our personal favorite “All My Plants Are Dead” earlier this year, the burgeoning artist has since taken part in multiple festivals (Sonic Movement & Indie Fest) in the Carolinas, and she also released an introspective single title “Blood Bind” featuring RILEY. Now, our favorite North Carolina singer is back with her latest single “Wasted Potential”, and it is an absolute hit.

“Wasted Potential” may not be the conventional sound that we’re used to from Carr, but it is refreshing to see her experiment with her sound. Known for her more sultry-pop sound, “Wasted Potential” breaks barriers and shows that Carr has more in her wheelhouse. Natalie is a natural star and the sonics and lively elements that are laced within the production really bring her voice and exceptional writing to life. Although I am a fan of her more introspective music, I love when I see an artist tap into more of their swagger and that’s exactly what she does with this. She can’t be put into a box, and this anthemic single really proves that she is relatable on all levels. So, if you recently have felt like you are ageing, losing track of time, or feel like you are not living up to expectations, turn this song on and vibe the hell out!
