Emerging Chicago rapper, Amir Tripp, is back with another introspective single titled ‘U God’. The single talks about the hardships of growing up in his city where people only care about you when you’re gone. He discusses the issues of how there is a war in the streets which makes it difficult to fall asleep. The single is introspective and it shows a very relatable side to Tripp.

In the video that accompanies the single, we see Tripp moving through his city, and the use of scenic shots help add to his confessional lyricism. Overall, the video and the single has made me a huge fan of Amir and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Lyrics That Stick:

“And they see how I earn my stripes

They sayin I should write for Ye”
