TOKYO’S REVENGE - GOTHAM

Many articles written about up-start rapper TOKYO’S REVENGE mention his self-discovery as an artist while he was without a permanent home after high school. They attribute his success to the pain he’s had to feel, and align that pain with his precarious young lifestyle. But an environment is just that, while it informs us and our behavior, there’s an entire internal world left to consider. TOKYO’S REVENGE makes music for his fans. His inspiration comes from the very fact that people hang on his music, and use it to help them through their own struggles.
Directed and edited by JMP and creative directed by Lil Sabotage, his latest music video, for “GOTHAM,” carries all that tension in unbridled emotion and more. Thematically, everything is tied up in a beautifully executed visual. The track itself, produced by Cliiifford & Mathias Tyner, is a throaty distorted wonder - a perfect beat for TOKYO’S REVENGE’s unmistakable vocals.
TOKYO’S REVENGE has been on a brutal tear of quality releases since his newfound major label platform has given him all the tools he needs to give his fans the best experience he can. When he’s not sleeping or playing video games with his fans through his Discord server, the mostly anonymous rapper is recording his passionate, energized vocals at the same desk and with the same mic as he uses to talk trash online.
While some would call that behavior unhealthy, it’s that dedication to connecting to his fanbase that keeps TOKYO’S REVENGE on the cutting edge of the rap game. He knows what people need because he’s talking to them. Where are you?
Lyrics That Stick:
“What the fuck is you toting
Instagram knows yo gun just for posing
My car looks like Batman's, I'm not joking
I put you on IV, that poison be potent”
