Midwxst is an artist that needs to be on your radar, and his new single “Tic Tac Toe” further proves his star power. For the better part of this year, the 17-year-old Indiana-based rapper has continued to release energetic tracks that thrive off the same idiosyncracies found in hyperpop’s glitchy production. In his new record, he blends hip-hop with electronic-sounding production that is a delight to all music listeners. With his originality and ear for infectious production, the rapper proves he has everything in his arsenal to become a household name.

The common theme in the visual that accompanies the single is the color red. Whether he’s in a room or running through a grass field, the color red seems to follow the rapper. My favorite thing about the visual is the transition to glitchy scenes and the cartoon images that are spread throughout the video. The video is fun and energetic and the color grading is some of the best I have seen. With that being said, if you are a music fan, expand your palette and give this a play!

Lyrics That Stick:

“Playin’ my opps like tic tac toe

If I really wanted to, I could steal your hoe

My head on a swivel, I stay on my toes

Don’t wanna text you, I’m finna go ghost”
