Hailing from Los Angeles, alt-pop songstress, Cami Petyn, has been captivating listeners with her ability to craft transparent singles that are a direct extension of herself. Cami is an exceptional songwriter and that has allowed her the freedom to touch on more difficult topics and bring listeners into her world. Although I’m relatively new to her sound, she really caught my ear with her latest single “Psycho Bitch” that explores female empowerment, self-realization, and personal triumph. The single sheds a light on what it’s like being a woman in the music industry and Cami uses the single as a tool to show that you can take back the power! Although she has been through things personally, she wants listeners to feel empowered by the words. In addition to the single, she also dropped a cinematic visual to accompany the song.

In the visual, Cami is seen chained in an interrogation room to show how the world has villainized her and made her out to be the crazy one. After being dragged out the room, the visual transitions to Cami taking on the persona of a psycho and taking her power back. The transitions and color grading on the visual are amazing, and I am a huge fan of the emotion she displayed. Overall, this is one of the most powerful songs that we have had the ability to write on. With that being said, get to know Cami on socials and stream her song above!

Lyrics That Stick:

“I've been good always It's the way I’m raised

Down by the beach small town low key where I knew everybody

Now I’m in LA And it’s not the same

Gettin’ pushed and played by the rich boy white boy”
