If there was ever to be a perfect single to describe the pandemic, Rodney’s latest release, ‘Lockdown’ would be my first option. With a signature late-night Toronto R&B sound, Rodney’s smooth melodies and croons help create an atmosphere that is relatable to anyone that has lived under lockdown in the pandemic. In addition, to releasing the intoxicating single, the rising singer also delivered a very cinematic visual.
In the Mark Klassen-directed visual, we see the emerging artist roam the empty streets as he embraces the thought of having to change how he lives during a city lockdown. We see him driving fast around the streets, and we also see a nod to the movie “Like Mike” due to the clip of the Air-Forces hanging from the power-lines. The song and video serve as an artistic view of being isolated and longing to be around someone you can’t. Overall, the visual and single are captivating and deserve a couple of minutes of your time.

That’s right yeah I’m the greatest”
