Bennet is an Singer-songwriter based out of Connecticut and her newest single “When it’s good” is something you definitely don’t want to miss out on. The track sees BENNETT sabotaging a relationship that appears too good to be true. Under the influence of Lana Del Rey, Stevie Wonder, Frank Ocean, SZA, and her “favorite artist” The Weeknd I think personally “When it’s good” is her best song till date.
The production on the track is really groovy and engaging while also having RnB influences from the early 2000’s. I personally love how the vocal mix is really clean and crisp while also having those acoustic drums that add a raw essense to the track. I feel anyone who appreciates RnB with a modern twist would love this song.
This song is definitely going to be on repeat for awhile. Bennet’s musicianship and songwriting abilities are going to make her shoot onto the mainstream scene anytime now, so check her out before then!
Lyrics That Stick:
“It's a me problem, not a we problem
I'm just head-boppin' when my demon's talkin', like
You should be the first one to dip out
Leave his ass in love with his dick out”
