What do you get when you mix ambient production with intoxicating vocals? You get rising Northern California singer/songwriter Church-Hill. Although this is my first time listening to the artist, the 19-year-old has immense talent. His vibrato is infectious, and his songwriting is well beyond his years. On his new single ‘WDIGW’, he meshes all of his talents into one beautiful song.

‘WDIGW’ is a very smooth single, and the production by Luvhead pulls 80s-esque flourishes and indie drums to make a soothing but confessional single from the rising artist. The song is fast-paced but still breathes enough to allow Church-Hill to reflect on a break-up. His sound is very genuine, and it has a very youthful feel that is very enticing. With his ability to incorporate profound and light-hearted elements in his songs, Church-Hill shows that he has a promising future.

Lyrics That Stick

“Break it down, light it up, imma share this one with you

Heard your leaves were falling down

Imma have to rake a few

Oo now she moving at light speed”
