‘if i were u,’ I’d have this song added to every summer playlist on my phone ASAP! As blackbear gets closer and closer to releasing his studio album, these singles seem to get better and better. Not to mention the addition of Lauv on this song, making it the ultimate collaboration between two of pop’s biggest artists right now.
This chorus has us all thinking about what we could’ve done differently with a past relationship. Songs that seem so relatable they evoke a real, personal emotion are the best types of songs - and that’s exactly what this does. An added bonus is how beautiful the melodies and layered harmonies sound together. Lauv and bear’s voices mesh so perfectly we’re wondering why it took this long for them to work together in the first place!
