If you haven’t heard of Voda Fuji yet, I don’t blame you. The Russian-born, Denver denizen has been keeping his head down, steadily putting out a stream of impressive music for the last year. His biggest track, “Valet” has over 200,000 streams on Spotify, and several of his songs have amassed tens of thousands of streams on SoundCloud, but somehow Voda Fuji has remained an undiscovered gem.
“I feel like I constantly have to stop my self from overthinking when it comes to lyrics so this was a good example of something more off the top”
Refusing to ever let a single genre pin him down, Voda (water, in Russian) has something new for his fans on every eclectic, mold-breaking release he frees from his vault of unheard hits.
With the release of the smooth pop dream, “Purple Life Jacket,” Voda Fuji shows us yet another dimension to his master of his craft. It’s striking to hear a brand new artist with this much of a handle on the potential of his sound - he and his frequent collaborator Silo have a firm grasp on what Voda’s voice can and should do. Never afraid to experiment and push boundaries, the rising star’s discography flits from Hip-Hop and R&B to EDM and Pop, and everything in between.
Voda Fuji explores his Bryson Tiller side on “Purple Life Jacket,” pairing his tone and lyrics elegantly with Silo’s production to lock down yet another vibe. Having had a peek behind the curtain of unreleased content myself, you should probably be on the lookout for more hot releases from the pair of talented young creatives before long. Voda Fuji is on the wave.
Lyrics That Stick:
“My heads spinning
Mid decisions
I’ve been living in a place where the clocks stopped ticking
Psilocy up in my system love I’m tripping
Listen
SL 500 and the top goes missing”
