Seattle native and RCA Records signee Dempsey Hope has been tearing up Spotify in 2020 with a string of high-performing singles that show both the depth of the young talent’s range and the near limitless potential to create a truly stunning body of work throughout his career. His latest effort, “Elephant In The Room (feat. gnash),” is the artist’s first track sporting a feature, and only hints at the amazing collaborations sure to be in Dempsey Hope’s future.
gnash’s vocals pair excellently with Dempsey’s on this Jake Crocker production gem. “Elephant In The Room” tells a familiar story through in a refreshingly resonant voice. This slow burn really lets both vocalists shine in it’s runtime just shy of three minutes. It’s great to see Hope taking a more reserved approach on this track, staying careful with his lyrics and being sure to get his message across. With quality music like this so early in his career, it’ll be a pleasure to watch Dempsey Hope’s rise to the top.
Lyrics That Stick:
“It's been five years, four months, three days
To say you're the one that I want always
How many diamonds in this ring do you need?
'Cause I keep counting three
You, the elephant, and me, yeah”
