The only question you should be trying to answer after listening to this one is, “can Jefferson Clay get any more ‘Smooth?!’” We’ll be honest, this song was so refreshing to hear compared to a lot of the stuff circulating out there today. This dude is a unique and intriguing talent that could blow up any minute!

The mesh of influences on this song is really cool. From the likes of Twenty-One Pilots with the new-age rock, to stadium-level electronic percussion and synths on the hook, it really makes for an electrifying sound. With just three songs currently out from Clay, the sky is truly the limit. We’re so excited to watch him gain wind and continue to climb!

Lyrics That Stick:

“I couldn’t even be more tired

Of all of these West coast liars

I’m only asking you

Do I go down smooth”

Following Spotify "Fresh Finds" editorial support, Jefferson Clay returns with his 3rd single, 'Do I Go Down Smooth?'. A hook-laden, high-energy pop bop about re-discovering self-esteem. "You have little control over how the world perceives you. Be 200% true to yourself, find the people who really care about you, surround yourself with them, and the world can mind its own." Sounds like: Sir Sly, Twenty-One Pilots, Matt Maeson
