Emerging pop artist, Jillian Rossi, teams up with North Carolina based singer Caleb Hearn for a powerful single on mental health titled ‘under the weather’. The song is deep, and it gives an introspective look into what it is like dealing with depression. Although it seems like many artists are coming out with records that touch on this topic, the artists make their single a lot more genuine. The way Jillian describes that she is alone and no one can tell is a common feeling for a lot of people that deal with depression.
Even though the song can be sad at some parts, the progression in the production makes it feel like the battle they are facing is beatable. Caleb Hearn is the driving force in this progression, and he gives a different perspective with his lyrics. While earlier lyrics from Jillian touch on the harsh reality of dealing with mental health, Hearn sheds light on the fact that he knows he will be okay. This contrast allows people to see two sides of the coin of depression, but it also leaves fans knowing that they can get through it. Just like the weather, depression will come and go, but we have the ability to make it through the good and the bad. A brighter day will always be on the horizon. With that being said, we believe you should listen to this ASAP!
Lyrics That Stick:
“Rain keeps pouring out my window
Feel like it’s been so long since
I’ve seen the light of day”
