Jay Isaiah & Ley Vara - Toxic Love

Jay Isaiah and Ley Vara make the perfect match on ‘Toxic Love’ as they share their perspectives on a toxic relationship. Although I try to stay away from toxic people and relationships, this song is absolutely hard to say no to. The Mississauga R&B singer, Jay Isaiah, has been on our radar for a long time. However, this is the most complete song I have heard from him, and the feature from Ley is sublime.
‘Toxic Love’ is a smooth R&B jam that has flashes of dancehall within the production. It’s a timeless record and the layers of guitar, 808s, and subtle effects turn a ‘toxic’ song into an infectious hit that you will be singing all summer long. In addition to the well composed production, the vocal performances from the artists play well off each other. At times you will even hear them going back and forth. Although they aren’t a group, I have heard two collabs between the two, and I can say that I’m looking forward to a collab tape in the future. With that being said, go stream this summer jam ASAP!

Been trynna make it work
But maybe we just know this isn’t love”
