tobi lou - “Endorphins”

tobi lou’s image and presentation have always been just as enigmatic as his heartwarming, genre defying, passionate discography. Really leaning into his Channel Orange feels, tobi lou is back with his seventh release of the year. The Nigerian-born, Chicago-raised artist has been anything but silent while fans wait for his next album, the follow up to 2019’s Live On Ice. The rising star with a cult following constantly bares his emotions to his listeners, and we keep coming back - track after track.
His most recent offering, “Endorphins,” both devastates and entices as it dances between R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, and even some Dancehall. Weaving in and out of well-layered production with precise lyrics, the Artclub/EMPIRE signee is certainly getting a handle on his sound. It’s great to see an artist having achieved niche success combined with the backing to truly chase his vision. We wish tobi luck while we enjoy “Endorphins” and wait on his next studio album.
Lyrics That Stick:
“I can't find nobody to love me back
Every time I breathe, it's heart attack
Smoke in my lungs, please, fight for my country
Fucked up my money (Fucked up my money)”
