Boon is an 18 year old up and coming artist from Nashville and his newest single “Sun goes down” is something you definitely don’t wanna miss out on. Boon’s sound can be described as Dark pop mixed with elements of EDM, Trap and Blues. In this song, Boon sings about his complicated relationship with the girl he loves and how despite of having a love-hate relationship with her, he doesn’t want her to leave his side. Boon is fairly new to the scene, making his debut last year and with 19 songs already under his belt, I can definitely see him paving his own lane as an artist.
This track is produced by Boon himself as he is a self produced artist and I think the production works perfectly for the song as it compliments the mood along with his songwriting. This song’s production consists of a mellow but groovy guitar melody along with some engaging vocal chops and hard hitting trap drums. I personally love it when artists get candid in their songs, that paired with good songwriting and production makes the song a straight hit in my eyes. I think anyone who appreciates dark alt-pop music would love this song.
This song is definitely going to be on repeat for awhile. Boon’s musicianship and songwriting abilities are going to make him shoot onto the mainstream scene anytime now, so check him out before then!
Lyrics That Stick:
“I hate it when you’re here
But I hate it When you’re gone
Hate that when the sung goes down you’re all I want”
