Due to the oversaturation of music that comes out on a daily basis, I often find myself disconnecting from music as a whole every other day. Although this makes it hard to blog and discover new music, it also helps me stay laser focused to music that is really pushing boundaries. As a writer and an artist, I am always looking for refreshing sounds and music that I can really see myself listening to. This week, I was blessed to come across music duo Bronze Whale and their latest single “St. Lynn”.

Made up of music veteran Aaron Jaques and newcomer Benny Alley, Bronze Whale began their journey in 2011 and haven’t looked back. With their ability to craft infectious music that meshes electronic, lo-fi pop, EDM, and sometimes bedroom pop, the duo have found a very unique sound that I believe is truly innovative. They can’t be put into a box, and they have a real ear for captivating sounds.

On their latest single “St. Lynn”, they deliver a Summery single that is all about new experiences. This is what they had to say:

“Aaron had started writing this instrumental during solo sessions in Sacramento, CA. At the time, Aaron was heavily focusing on writing material devoid of constraints and practicing stepping outside of self imposed requirements. I (Benny) was listening to the demo on repeat as I headed to Denver, CO for the opening of the new Meow Wolf art installation in September of this last year. Aarons style of writing this song paired so perfectly with spending time with this creator community celebrating all this hard work they had done on this massive project. I wanted to write vocals to honor that time and reflect on how this community came together. It was about experiencing new moments in life through new perspectives and with new friends. I spent several weeks in Sacramento wrapping this one with Aaron, and we're really happy with it. It feels like summertime to us. We hope you dig it and as always we super appreciate you listening.”

Overall, this is the perfect song to end your Summer on and we can’t wait to here more music from the duo in the future. Until the, stream the song below and vibe out!
