melan Turns Pain Into Power On Her Uplifting New Single “Respect”

Hailing from the DMV, multifaceted singer-songwriter, melan, has caught our attention with her latest single “Respect”. Although I’m new to her sound, melan pulled me in on the first listen. She has this captivating voice that is backed by lush melodies and her songwriting will evoke emotions you never thought you had. In comparison to the mainstream, the only artist I can compare her to is Jhene Aiko, but melan has this rawness in her voice and songwriting that is very refreshing compared to the latter.
On her latest single “Respect”, the emerging singer pens an anthem about self-worth. The single really speaks to the feeling of longing for reciprocity in romantic love and what happens when we give our power away in that process. melan’s vocals are exceptional and you can tell that she may have had some type of classical training due to her range and ability to stay in the pocket. Overall, this is the perfect single to end your summer to and it is definitely a vibe. With that being said, make sure to add this to your playlists and vibe out.
