An Interview With Luke Brown - still in love

In the past year, we’ve had the chance to see many artists gain recognition from TikTok and finally get noticed for their amazing talents. Luke Brown is a great example of someone who’s undeniable musical ability is looking to carry him further and further as the year progresses! With the release of his first song under the name Luke Brown, I got the chance to hop on a Zoom call and talk more about it with him.
First of all, this song is absolutely nuts. Carrying such a melancholy, blunt, yet hopeful aura to it, Luke’s songwriting is blowing me away. It’s vulnerable, intimate, and packed with genuinely relatable emotion. His voice so effortlessly glides over jacuzzi jefferson’s solemn production which beautifully picks up as the song progresses.
In our conversation, Luke spoke about drawing inspiration from artists like Frank Ocean, Brent Faiyaz, Daniel Caesar, and more. I can definitely hear that relation, and what’s cool is the fact that I can still hear a uniqueness to what Luke is doing in his own music. He’s truly paving his own lane right now and you’re missing out if you haven’t hopped on the bandwagon! Check out ‘still in love’ ASAP and let us know what you think!
Lyrics That Stick:
“Somehow the shame is always
Put on me
Somehow it’s strange
When we don’t speak”
