Bilingual bedroom pop duo spill tab returns in August with their third single, “Cotton Candy,” a ukulele-drive infusion of indie pop and R&B. Claire Chicha and David Marinelli only hint at their production capabilities throughout, showcasing impressive restraint and tenderness with Claire’s vocal treatment. The track’s washed out refrains and twinges of electricity invite you in for a second, if not third listen.

Claire’s voice champions these innovative lyrics that just beg for you to look them up on Genius. Claire invites us into an intimate moment while maintaining a chilling distance. Her voice is at once soothing and curt, as the lyrics dance around a hard lesson. This duo has so much potential, making it bittersweet that their catalogue is tantalizingly small. We’re on the hook for more to come.

Spill tab ignores the limits of language and still gets their point across as they darkens the track’s production until a gentle fades out.

Lyrics That Stick:

“I’m hoping for a fight

in this imaginary vibe

that I have caught and totemized

to replace you when you hide”
