Counter Crush Shine On Their Nostalgic New Single “she plays deftones”

As a music writer, I am constantly looking for groundbreaking singles that continue to push the boundaries of our musical landscape. Often, I find a lot of good singles, but I have currently been looking for the diamonds in the rough that shine miles above just good quality. I’m looking for singles that blend genres and inspire you throughout your daily life. Recently, I was blessed to find a single that I would consider a ‘needle in the haystack’ find. That infectious single is “she plays deftones” by emerging band Counter Crush.
The single is a great blend between 2000's nostalgia and indie rock mixed into one. I personally love the euphoric vibe I get from every listen. Over the 4 minute runtime, the instrumentation has a washed feel that is easy to listen to, and the vocal performance is exceptional. Overall, this is one of my favorite listens of the year so make sure to add it to your playlists.
