After an impressive 2021, rising pop-artist, clide, is back with his latest hit “hotel room”. The single follows his vulnerable end of the year hit “kitchen floor”, and it is an up-tempo record carried by a punky flair.
Over the song’s two-minute runtime, clide discusses the feelings you catch for someone who has hurt you before. With his raw lyricism and exceptional vocals, clide has an innate ability to craft records that truly captivate his listeners. Although the record starts with great vocal delivery and a slower tone, the production progressions and sonics really allow the song to expand into a hit. It allows his lyrics to feel extremely raw, and he was able to express the complexities in relationships that are sometimes hard to discuss.
In “hotel room”, clide ends up falling back in love with his ex even though he knows that it’ll never actually work out. A message relatable to many, “hotel room” expresses how little control we have over our feelings and that it’s what we do with those feelings that determines our future. Overall, the song is one of the best we have heard this year so make sure to add it to your playlists.
