It’s very rare for me to fully become a fan of an artist after listening to one song, but I think I may have found my new guilty pleasure. Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, rising singer-songwriter, Hayley Sakkara, has proven that good storytelling, captivating vocals, and genre-bending sonics make for an incredible artist. Although she is 21-years-old, there is a maturity to her sound, and she strives for her voice to be a vessel for those dealing with depression and mental health. Now, she debuts on our pages with her latest offering “Prayed 444 U”, and it is one of the best songs I have heard.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Billie Eilish, Hayley Williams (Paramore), and Ariana Grande, Sakkara has found a way to mesh the best qualities of each into one mesmerizing sound. On her latest single “Prayed 444 U”, she floats over warm synths and engaging guitar riffs with her exceptional vocal range. At times, I found myself almost hypnotized by her raw ability. The song is sonically pleasing and I loved the breakdowns and transitions that allow the listener to stay engaged. Although I’m a huge fan of the production, she has one of the best hooks that I have heard as of recent. Overall, this song needs to be heard, so make sure to stream it below and share with your friends!
