julzzz Debuts On Our Pages With Her Impressive New Record “my vision of you”

Although there has been an oversaturation of artists following trends within the music industry, I find joy in discovering artists who I feel are creating their own lane. Even though it’s sometimes hard to garner fans and notoriety when developing your own sound, the pay off in the end is well worth it. This week, I was blessed to discover rising singer-songwriter julzzz, and she blew me away with her new single “my vision of you”.
“The song explores the feelings of disappointment, sadness & boredom that comes from the realization that the person you wanted doesn't meet the (unrealistic) expectations you created for them, and that to a certain extent you are self-aware enough to know that they could never meet those expectations but also feeling like you shouldn't need to settle for less.” - julzzz
Sonically, the record is laced with smooth percussion, lush melodies, and engaging instrumentation. I absolutely loved the overall pacing of the song and julzzz’s vocals were exceptional. She has great vocal range and she has a way to evoke raw emotions with her overall cadence and delivery. julzzz is a star in the making and she has a sound that I believe reminds me of great artists such as Amy Winehouse, Billie Eilish, Steve Lacy, and Erykah Badu.
