Finn Harry - MURDER

As I've gotten older, the fun that music used to give me feels as if it's fading away. It's almost as if I'm losing the one thing that let me escape from the real world. Although I'm still fairly young, it feels as if kids and young adults like myself are having to adjust to life quicker due to social media and the uncontrollable moments we live with on a daily basis. I've honestly had a hard time expressing these feelings, but this new record by the talented Finn Harry seems to perfectly paint how I feel. With his debut single 'MURDER', Finn takes no hostages with his electrifying and angsty new record.
Fusing alt-pop and rock, the Los Angeles based artist/producer, dives into the social structure of young adults competing for attention to climb the social hierarchy. Although we can clearly see this happening in real-time every day, Finn takes it a bit further by acknowledging that it feels as if people would kill for attention if they had the chance. With the metallic guitar chords and his highly expressive vocals, Finn will make you want to trash your own living room with excitement. This song is a rush, and it's the type of song that will make you remember that music is all about the feeling.
The most impressive thing about this song is that it sounds like nothing that is coming out right now. With elements, that remind me of English rock band Bloc Party's song titled 'Helicopter', Finn Harry takes me back to the early 2000s where everything was carefree for me. His ability to lyrically tackle different topics and express himself this early in his career will prove to be a massive positive for the new artist. This is what Finn said about his debut single,
“It feels like a good time to let out some angst in the midst of the tumultuous
political period we’re all going through—this track, to me, is exactly that."

“Cause we all wanna be someone today
But you might have to kill somebody first”
