Emerging from the shadows, San Jose-native, Monét Ngo, is shaking the industry up with his debut single “Lonestar”. Although his discography only holds this one single, the Vietnames-American school teacher is proving that creativity shouldn’t be fleeting with age.
On his debut record, he impresses with his exceptional delivery over the indie-rock styled production as he discusses anxiety and his push to follow his dreams of becoming an artist. The song is beautifully crafted sonically, and it has a coming of age feel to it that will make you reminisce about the past. Overall, the lyrics and brevity from Monét prove he has undeniable talent and we can’t wait to hear more from the rising artist.
