Emerging out of the San Gabriel Valley, singer/songwriter, Noah Vela, has been captivating many with his ability to craft introspective singles that pull at our heartstrings. The beauty in his songs are his raw lyricism and lush melodies that feel like they get embedded in our heads. Vela is still very young and didn’t really start writing music until high school where he began finding his sound. After releasing his debut single “Bi Myself”, it was well known that Vela was bisexual and it was amazing to see an artist let that be known so early on in their career. Vela is an artist through and through, and he has the talent to back up everything. Now, he is back with his relatable and heartfelt new single titled “just a kid”.
The first time I heard the song, I wanted to curl up in a ball because I was overwhelmed by the real world and felt like I was being forced to lose that youthfulness that I have tried to hold onto. “just a kid” is led by an infectious acoustic guitar and his beautiful melodies will pull you in from start to finish. In addition, the hook is one of the most beautiful things I have heard, and I must say he has such a mature sound. Vela has won me over as a fan, and I can’t wait to hear more.
Lyrics That Stick:
'‘I was a kid, before all this happened”
